Easter was also stolen from the pagan traditions and celebrations, the freaking xtians couldn't even invent their OWN stuff because their fantasy is fake and  they had to hijack and take over other peoples' cultures celebrations and holidays:  

The goddess Eastre (notice that name and spelling?) was a Pagan goddess of spring and fertility, and a celebration/feast in her honor was held on the first full moon following the vernal equinox. Can you guess when that occurs? The full moon symbolized the pregnant phase of Eastre passing on fertility. 

Hmmm, what are some other symbols of fertility?

"They reproduce like rabbits!" ........ Rabbits and hares are known for their reproductive veracity. It's no surprise that these animals have become a symbol of spring and fertility, and another not-surprising symbol is the egg. "Omne vivum ex ovo": Latin for "All life [is] from [an] egg." It's true, all animals come from an egg, whether it be fertilized and laid in a nest or den, or the single cells that reside in the ovaries of mammals, the egg is the start of all life and therefore an obvious symbol of fertility and spring.

Of course, the Christians couldn't just force the Pagans to convert, so as with Christmas and other holidays/beliefs, they adapted their myths to hijack  the established dates and traditions of Pagan celebrations and symbols. They even called this holiday by the same name, only uncreatively re-arranging the last two letters of Eastre into Easter, LOL

Ostera, Anglo-Saxon Goddess Of Spring

Thus, the name Easter comes from Ostera or Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring, for a spring festival celebrating fertility and the renewal of life, which was held annually for thousands of years before the birth of your jezus thing. It is from this Pagan festival that many of your Easter customs have come.

So what do we have so far? we have a stolen PAGAN celebration known as "Eastre" that celebrated the godESS  of spring and fertility: Eastre  and claim some jezus dude rose from the grave that day or somesuch nonsense. Then we have the PAGAN celebration of the end of the harvest and the shortest  days when the sun was setting the earliest and the days dark and gloomy. Yule was the pagan celebration that included the re-birth of the sun (not son, but: SUN) as the days get longer in the Northern Hemisphere starting usually around Dec 21-22 depending on leap year etc.

It was a celebration of the SUN and longer days.

So this holiday celebration was, like Eastre- stolen by the xtians and hijacked for their purposes to run over every OTHER belief system on the planet they could by trying to take over and stomp on THEIR celebrations.
